For the first time, MLB might not host a season. The players want to play, but with a pro-rated salary according to the amount of games played.
The owners are the ones holding up the deal. As capitalist they should be aware there are risk in business and its not always profit. The Billionaire owners have been been making hand over fist for over 100 years, and now they are too afraid of having ONE down year. This break from Baseball might be the end of MLB since the it would be 18 months from the last game played and game 1 of the 2021 regular season.
The owners should have jumped all over these proposals from the MLBPA as most of their fans are over the age of 55. The young fans would have jumped all over baseball if it were the only sport playing, instead the owners might be digging their own graves out of pride.
I LOVE baseball more than any other sports, but the players should hold the line and keep to their demands. The MLB owners and commissioner will be the biggest losers of the Sports world if there is no season.
