Even with the news of All-Star Jimmy Butler missing first game of the season citing personal reasons and Dion Waiters serving his one game suspension, the rest of the Heat squad stepped up and performed well to get the victory in the season opener against the Grizzlies.
Big games from Justice Winslow (27-7-7), Goran Dragic (19-3-3), newcomers Kendrick Nunn (24-2-3), Tyler Herro (14-8-1) and Chris Silva (8-6-0 and 3 Blocks) helped the heat overcome the absence of Butler.
Most of the game consisted of both teams going on small runs but never pulling away until the Heat in the 4th quarter. The Heat outscored the Grizz 37-17 in the 4th led by Nunn and Silva with a combined 19 points on 8-10 shooting, 8 rebounds, and 3 blocks to secure the W for the Heat.
