The Expectations weren't high for the Miami Dolphins in 2019. Every Power Rankings had the Dolphins as the worst team in the league then adding a big turn over in roster from just last week. Beginning the 2019 season the Dolphins lost 59-10 to the Ravens. Lamar Jackson looked like Dan Marino, Not bad for a running back, finishing with 17-20 for 324 yards and 5 touchdowns, while Fitzpatrick looked like Fitzpatrick, throwing under 50% with 1 garbage time TD (late 2nd Quarter) and 1 interception on the 1st drive. Under pressure the entire time isn't an excuse for a man lauded for his leadership and experience.
Josh Rosen was brought in for garbage time and played as terrible as Ryan Fitzpatrick with a pick in Rosen's second pass, dashing Dolphins hopes for something positive. The Dolphins defense was just as atroious allowing 42 points before halftime. The Dolphins have so many problems that one bad season won't change that for the future even with all the draft picks acquired this off-season.. ProFootballTalk.com has even reported multiple Dolphins have contacted their agents requesting a trade.
Brian Flores claimed the blame starts with him then went on to say it was a execution problem and not a scheme issue with the big loss, which contradicts his statements. Next week might look worse for the Fins as the Patriots come into town fresh off of a dominating win against the contending Steelers and adding a top 3 WR in the league in Antonio Brown. The Dolphins hope not to be trounced but the spread from Vegas already had them as a 14.5 underdogs at home.
