Over the Labor Day Weekend, the Miami Dolphins completely through in the towel for the upcoming 2019 season. The Dolphins traded their best offensive lineman in Laremy Tonsil, WR Kenny Stills, 2020 4th round pick, and a 2021 6th round pick to the Houston Texans for 2020 1st round pick, 2021 1st round pick, 2021 second round pick and 2 players.
From a distance, the trade seems fair. The Dolphins aren't going anywhere this season and building for the future seems like a smart move. This is the Dolphins though. Maybe only behind the Browns (not anymore) the Dolphins have had terrible drafts year after year.
Here is a list of Dolphins 1st round pick since Stephen ROss has been owner
2008: Jake Long, LT, Michigan, 1st overall
2009: Vontae Davis, DB Illinois, 25th overall
2010: Jared Odrick, DE Penn St, 28th overall
2011: Mike Pouncey, C Florida, 15th overall
2012: Ryan Tannehill, QB Texas A&M, 8th overall
2013: Dion Jordan, DE, Oregon, 3rd overall
2014: Ja’Wuan James, OT, Tennessee 19th
2015: DeVante Parker, WR, Louisville 14th
2016: Laremy Tunsil, OT, Mississippi 13th
2017: Charles Harris, DE, Missouri 22nd
2018: Minkah Fitzpatrick, S, Bama, 11th
2019 Christian Wilkins, DT, Clemson 13th
Too early to judge 2018 and 2019 Picks but consistently the Dolphins have made the wrong decision. Along with this ownership group and the coaches starting Ryan Fitzpatrick after trading a 2nd round pick for Josh Rosen, The fans should have little to no faith the Dolphins will capitilize on these picks from Houston.
The Dolphins have become the Browns
