The Miami Marlins had a great start to June, winning their first two series of the month against the San Diego Padres and the Milwaukee Brewers. Since then the Marlins have dropped 3 straight series and 2-7 over that span.
In Sunday's game against the Pirates, the Marlins blew a 2 run lead to lose the game 4-5. Chris Archer, more than capable pitcher with plenty of plashes of greatness, didn't have his best stuffa nd the Marlins jumped all over him. Sandy Alcantara out pitched the veteran with 3 runs over 6 innings, leaving the game with a 1 run lead. The Bullpen gave up the lead in the 7th, securing the series loss.
The Marlins travel to St. Louis to start an 8 game road trip. Tonight the Marlins will have Elieser Hernendez on the mound against Miles Mikolas. First Pitch at 8:15 tonight.
Tuesday is the spotlight game of the series for Marlins Fans. Jordan Yamamoto, The rookie recently called up from Double A Jacksonville. His 1st game he pitched 7 shutout innings scattering 3 hits and 5 strike outs. Marlins Fans and the Team has high hopes for the young right hander acquired in the Yelich trade.
Wednesday will feature Trevor Richards, who hopes to bounce back after a rough outting against the Pirates, allowing 11 hits and 5 earn runs.
