The Marlin's broke a 6 game losing streak last night in Marlin's Park. Miami witnessed great performances from Garrett Cooper and Curtis Granderson, but the narrative from last night's game is the MLB debut of Jordan Yamamoto. Let's give Cooper credit tho almost hitting for the cycle, just a double short.
Jordan Yamamoto was acquired last year in the Christian Yelich trade with the Brewers. Before last night, he was ranked 17th best prospect in Marlin's Farm System by MLB.
After using only 5 starters until this week, the Marlins have been healthy, especially on the mound. This week Caleb Smith and Jose Urena were place on the 10 day IL. Jordan Yamamoto was one of the replacements coming straight from AA.
In his MLB debut he went 7 inning, giving up only 3 hits and no runs.Hopefully Jordan can improve and bulid on this start and develop more confidence. The Marlins aren't starving for good young arms, an area much improved from just a year ago. Jordan seems to be one of the future pieces the fans have been hearing and seeing lately. Monte Harrison and Isan Diaz are others the fans hope to see perform on the Major League Level. Hopefully this was win number 1 of many many more to come.
