Dolphins Wide Receiver Says Injury Will Make Him A Better Player

Dolphins Player

Dolphins Training Facility, Davie (CBS12) -

Dolphins wide receiver, Jakeem Grant, suffered a season ending injury in 2018 and underwent lower left-leg surgery just six months ago. He was limited last week in the dolphins first week of OTA's but on Tuesday he took reps in 7-on-7 drills.

"I'm just hungry now and I'm just itching to get back with the guys and get back to full-go," said Grant after practice on Tuesday. "Just allowing me to go out there and make some plays and gain some trust with the quarterbacks and the receivers and the coaches and just to show I'm still working up to be that guy with you guys."

Grant caught 21 passes for 268 yards with two touchdowns last season - all career highs - before missing the final six games of the season.

"Last year was cut short for me but I don't have any regrets about it because it was an injury waiting to happen and I'm glad that it happened because I'm going to come back stronger and faster and better," said Grant.

But he knows in order to get there, he has to be patient.

"Man I hate watching, I hate watching. I always ask the trainers 'lets do more lets do more' but in the back of my mind I have to be smart as well but it's like, I'm hungry. I just want to set a tone for the whole team and show them they can depend on me."
