5-Year-Old Dies After Ingesting Meth At Riviera Beach Hotel, Mom Charged

Police in Riviera Beach are investigating the death of a young child who ingested methamphetamine.

They've charged 37-year old Heather Opsincs, the child's mother, who is accused of leaving the 5-year old in a hotel room where the drugs were within reach.

Officers arrived at the Sands Hotel and Resort to find paramedics attempting to revive the child, who was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead on Sunday.

Opsincs is charged with aggravated manslaughter.

Police have not released the gender of the victim but say they will have more information soon.
