Miami-Dade Commission Expected To Vote On Limited Plastics Ban

Miami Dade Commissioners set to vote on a resolution eliminating single-use plastics and Styrofoam at county-owned venues and replacing them with aluminum bottles or cans. Dave Doebler with Volunteercleanup-dot-org says the problem is the sheer volume. He says it's not only bad for the environment, but also for people's health--microplastics are linked to cancer and infertility. The Florida Retail Federation is against the ban, saying small businesses would suffer a significant financial hit.
