(Oakland Park, FL) -- It took more than six hours for Oakland Park fire rescue to cleaning up an overturned tanker and fuel spill along Andrews Avenue at Commercial Boulevard Tuesday morning.

The driver of the Lank Oil Co. truck lost control and flipped the big rig on its side between two homes shortly before 5:30 this morning.

To prevent a fuel fire, fire fighters from BSO brought the foam truck from Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International airport to blanket the scene.

Eleven-hundred gallons of diesel fuel was off-loaded by drilling holes in the tank and transferring it to another tanker.

Once the fuel was off-loaded, the truck was finally uprighted and towed away.

Currently, there is no word of any injuries.
