Lightning Hold Off Blue Jackets

The Tampa Bay Lightning (28-20-5) defeated the Columbus Blue Jackets (16-25-10) 4-2 on Saturday night in Columbus. The win snaps a two-game losing skid for Tampa Bay.

Brandon Hagel had a goal and an assist to lead Tampa Bay. Nikita Kucherov had two assists to maintain his points lead in the NHL, while Tampa Bay also got goals from Nicholas Paul, Anthony Cirelli and Steven Stamkos.

Andrei Vasilevskiy went 33-of-35 in net to get the win. Tampa Bay built a lead of 3-0 before the Blue Jackets pulled within 3-2 late in the third period. It was Hagel's goal in an empty net that clinched the game at the 19:12 mark of the third period.

The Lightning now head to Boston where they will play the Bruins on Tuesday night. Puck drop between the Lightning and Bruins is scheduled for 7:00 PM on Tuesday.
