Lightning Beat Maple Leafs In OT

The Tampa Bay Lightning (15-8-1) defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs (15-5-6) 4-3 in overtime on Saturday night at Amalie Arena.

Vladislav Namestnikov's first goal of the season came in the second period and tied the game 1-1. After Toronto took a 2-1 lead late in the second period, Nikita Kucherov scored on the power play early in the third to tie the game 2-2. Ross Colton gave Tampa Bay another power play goal less then three minutes later to give the Bolts a 3-2 lead.

Mitchell Marner scored at the 11:55 mark of the third period for Toronto to tie the game 3-3, which would the the score through the end of regulation. Thirty-three seconds into overtime, Alex Killorn scored the game winner to lift Tampa Bay to their second consecutive win and gave them their 15th win of the season.

Andrei Vasilevskiy went 36-for-39 in net for Tampa Bay to pick up the win, while Toronto goalie Matt Murray went 29-for-33 in net in the losing effort.

The Lightning return to action on Tuesday when they host the Detroit Red Wings. Puck drop from Amalie Arena is scheduled for 7:00 PM on Tuesday night.
