The Vanderbilt Commodores (5-5, 2-5) defeated the Florida Gators (6-5, 3-5) 31-24 on Saturday afternoon in Nashville. It was just the second win for Vanderbilt over Florida in the series since 1988.
Florida came out sluggish in this game as Vandy took a 14-6 halftime lead. In the third quarter Vanderbilt built their biggest lead of 28-12, before Florida scored a couple of touchdowns in the fourth to pull within seven.
Anthony Richardson went 25-for-42 with 400 yards passing, throwing three touchdowns and one interception. Vanderbilt was able to outrun the Gators 175-45 to pick up the win.
The Florida Gators now wrap up the 2022 regular season against Florida State on Friday. Kickoff between Florida and Florida State is scheduled for 7:30 PM on Friday November 25th.
