Lightning Score In Final Seconds To Stun Panthers, Take 2-0 Series Lead

The Tampa Bay Lightning defeated the Florida Panthers 2-1 on Thursday night in Sunrise. The win gives Tampa Bay a 2-0 series lead in the best of seven second round playoff series.

Corey Perry scored first, getting a power play goal at the 12:06 mark of the first period. Florida answered with a goal that was credited to Eetu Luostarinen to tie the game 1-1.

Andrei Vasilevskiy kept the Lightning in this game through the third period, finishing the night with 36 saves on 37 shots against. The game appeared heading to overtime, until Nikita Kucherov made some magic happen in the final seconds of the third. He set up Ross Colton for a beautiful goal with four seconds left to lift Tampa Bay to a regulation win.

The series now shifts to Amalie Arena for game three and four. Game three is scheduled for Sunday afternoon - puck drop is scheduled for 1:30 PM. You can hear the game, beginning with pregame coverage at 12:30 PM, on News Radio WFLA.
