"It's a very sad day when a former president gets indicted." That's what Democrat Congresswoman Lois Frankel says about the more than three dozen counts against Donald Trump.

He's the first former president to face federal charges.

"Everyone needs to be held accountable to the law and I think people need to be patient and trust the judicial system and let's just...let's see what happens."

Frankel represent's Florida's Congressional District 22, where Mar-a-Lago sits.

The indictment surrounds alleged classified documents seized by the FBI at Trump's Palm Beach home.

A reporter asked Frankel for her reaction to the indictment as she was announcing that a $320,000 federal grant would be go to build pedestrian bridges over the FEC tracks used by Brightline and freight trains.

There have been at least 28 fatalities from Brightline collisions since the rail line began service between West Palm Beach and Miami in 2018. A majority of those have been ruled either suicides or drivers trying to beat the train.

Brightline is expanding to Orlando as soon as Labor Day Weekend.

The question about the Trump indictment came at the end of the press conference (above).
