Former President Trump is at his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, but a group of his supporters showed up near his Palm Beach home Thursday night after Trump announced on Truth Social that he has been indicted over the classified documents investigation.

"I'm an innocent man. I'm an innocent person."

The supporters waved banners, flags and signs along Southern Boulevard just across the bridge from Mar-a-Lago and chanted things like "We love Trump!"

While speaking with CBS 12 News, Donald Tarca Jr. had a question about the timing of the indictment.

"If that would've happened in 2020 when Joe (Biden) was running against President Trump and his house was raided and they found all those classified documents in Joe's garage and he was arrested, how do you think the outrage would?"

It's 17 months away from the general election in November 2024 and Trump is far and away the leading Republican candidate to potentially face President Biden.

The crowds near Maralago are expected to grow on Friday and over the weekend.
