NFL Draft: Josh Allen's Twitter Scandal Could Cost Him The #1 Spot

Josh Allen, a former player for Wyoming, WAS the potential #1 draft pick for the NFL. That was until racial tweets came to the surface, Allen had posted back in high school. Josh Allen did take responsibility for the tweets saying,

"If I could go back in time, I would never have done this in a heartbeat. At the time, I obviously didn't know how harmful it was and now has become. I hope you know and others know I'm not the type of person I was at 14 and 15 that I tweeted so recklessly. ... I don't want that to be the impression of who I am, because that is not me. I apologize for what I did."

The NFL now needs to determine whether this prior incident will affect him being picked for the draft. It will be tough for teams to determine whether he truly is sorry or is just worried about how it's coming back to bite him. If Josh Allen falls from the #1 spot, then Baker Mayfield may go #1 to the Browns.

Although, the tweets are no longer posted on Twitter, Yahoo Sports did post a record of Allen's tweets which can be seen below.

Be warned, some of the language used below may be offensive.

He also responded to a question that looks like was asked of him on AskFM in 2013, saying “If it ain’t white, it ain’t right!”
