UFC fighter, Conor McGregor and his entourage were caught going BERSERK at the Barclay Center in Brooklyn, NY yesterday. McGregor was then arrested later that night after his plane was grounded attempting to leave New York. He was charged with three counts of assault and one count of criminal mischief.
McGregor can be seen in eyewitness videos attempting to throw a barrier at the bus and then proceeding to throw a wheeled dolly through a bus window. The bus was leaving the Barclay Center after a Press Conference for UFC 223, the fight that was scheduled for this weekend. A bus window was smashed open and two UFC fighters were injured, both of who were scheduled to fight this weekend.
Many of the fights as part of the UFC 223 have been cancelled since this and MMA fans are unsure of what will and will not be happening.
UFC President, Dana White, spoke out after the incident stating:
"This is the last stunt on Earth we would ever pull. I mean, this is embarrassing for the sport and obviously for the UFC. This is the furthest thing from a stunt."
The incident left fighters, Michael Chiesa and Ray Borg, injured. Michael Chiesa was then ruled out of UFC 223 due to cuts sustained from McGregor.
MMA Journalist, Ariel Helwani, has been keeping fans updated on this story through Twitter:
This story continues to develop as McGregor was released from the NYPD on bail and is attempting to be cleared to fly back to Ireland.
