German Skater Nicole Schott Skates To Schindler's List Score

And the gold medal for cluelessness goes to... German figure skater Nicole Schott!

Schott skated her short program to music from the movie Schindler's List which is about the Holocaust.  Social media went crazy!  Here are a couple highlights.

  • Maybe don't skate to the theme from Schindler's List if you're from Germany. It's just a little bit #Awkward.
  • German figure skater, chooses to do her free skate to the Schindler's List theme song. You just cannot draw it up any worse. Face planting on your first move and laying there for the remainder of your time would've been better. Good lord.
  • Just tuned into Olympic figure skating and the German figure skater is skating to the theme song from ... Schindler’s List. No joke. Call me crazy but that doesn’t seem right.
  • No matter how it is skated and after all these years, I still have a problem with a non #Jewish athlete, representing Germany, skating to #SchindlersList.

Shockingly enough, she isn't the first German skater to use this particular score.  Back in 1993, Katarina Witt used it during one of her performances.

What was she thinking?
